Heavy Rain Ceased Last Night The heavy rain of Tuesday night and yesterday ceased in the evening and lio severe flooding has been reported in Northland. The A.A. reported this morning that there was still water on the Whanga-rei-Kawakawa road, but cars were getting through with care. On the Mangakahia route, there is water over the road at Fraser’s Flat, while the main Dargaville road is blocked, but traffic can proceed via the Houto. The Russell road is not advised at piesent. The Auckland highway is normal. Railway traffic has been unaffected. The rainfall in Whangarei for the 24 hours ended at 9 o’clock this morning was 1.29 in., making a total of 3.79 for the two days.
