At the Frankton saleyards, yesterday, a medium yarding of fat sheep, consisting mostly of good quality mutton, was penned. Competition was keen, and late rates were fully maintained.

The offering of beef comprised mostly lightweight cattle. For these there was a brisk demand, and a good sale resulted.

There was only a small yarding of cow and heifer beef, but competition was firm and last week’s rates were maintained. There was a ready sale for vealers, prices advancing slightly. There was a keen inquiry for fat pigs, and stores and weaners improved in value. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., quote as follows: — Fat Sheep.—Heavy fat wethers, 35/6 to 36/3; medium fat wethers, 33/6, to 34/3; light fat wethers, 32/6 to 33/; Heavy fat ewes, 22/6 to 27/3; fat ewes, 23/ to 24/6; light and unfinished ewes, 19/ to 21/6; heavy fat lambs, 26/6 t0.29/6; mediumweight, 23/6 to 25/; light, 20/6 to 22/9. Store Sheep.—Mixed age ewes, running with Southdown rams, .33/; mixed aged ewes, to four years, 37/; fullmouth ewes, running with Southdown rams, 27/; older ewes, 21/6i 6-tooth wethers in fresh condition, »•! H/l'k store lambs, mixed sorts, 16/ to 16/6; others, 13/ to 14/6.

Cattle. —Small and unfinished steers, £8 15/ to £9 3/6; mediumweight fat cows, £7 15/ to £8 10/; others, £6 10/ to £7 5/; light and Jersey cows, £4 15/ to £5 7/6, boner cows, heavy, £4 13/ to £5; lighter, £3 15/ to £4 2/6; light, cows, £2 15/ to £3 5/.

Pigs __The top price for heavy baconers was £3 16/.
