DRAFT OF WHANGAREI AIRPORT BILL

The preliminary draft of the Whangarei Airport Bill has been drawn up by the Whangarei Borough Council and forwarded to the Attorney-General for revision.

Copies of the proposed Bill have been deposited.for public inspection at the Whangarei Magistrate’s Court and at the town clerk’s office. It is hoped that the legislation will be approved by Parliament during the forthcoming session. The Bill is entitled: —

“An Act to provide for the establishment of -an aerodrome for the district of Whangarei, for the incorporation and powers of an airport board in connection therewith, for the conferring of powers oh the Whangarei Borough and County Councils and on the town boards of Hikurangi, Kamo and Onerahi, with respect thereto, and for regulating the rights, powers and privileges Of the said . councils and beards with respect thereof.”
