Spellman secured a fall in the fifth round with a body press following two flying tackles, Cox equalised in the seventh round with a dump, after rendering his opponent groggy with elbow jolts. In the last round, Cox battered Spellman all ever the ring with jolts, and the latter was almost done when the gong sounded.
