Whangarei Branch Of Plunket Society
The monthly meeting of the Whangarei branch of the Plunket Society, was held in the Mayor’s room .on Tuesday. Present: Mesdames Thorne (in chair), Stainton, Hall, Brake, W. Jones, Boss, Crawford, Gray, Hart, Boos, Dunn. Gumming, Miller, Christiansen, Trimmen. Surman and Miss Thomas.
Before business commenced Mrs Thorne welcomed new members.
Mrs Goodwin was granted six months’ leave of absence, and Mrs Smman "was appointed acting-secre-tary for that period. Accounts for £2Ol 5s 3d were passed for payment. Nurse Thomas’ report for May is as follows: New cases, adults 22. babies 21. Visits to home;:: Headquarters, 110: out G; total 11G. Visits to office: Headquarters. 414, out. 119; total, 533. The following places were visited once:—Waipu, Maungakaramea. Kawakawa, Maungatapere and Maunu. Hlkurangi was visited twice. The health of the children —toddlers and babies has been good. Arrangements are well in hand for ■the annual Plunket Day.
