Dairy Factory Managers’ Hours

The refusal of the Arbitration Court to accept an agreement on hours reached between the dairy factory companies and managers as being contrary to the provisions of the Factories Act, the court holding that managers were workers, not occupiers, was discussed by the South Island Dairy Association.
An assurance was given that the Manager’s Union would give every assistance in the efforts to ensure that the managers could work long hours, by which, alone, they could give satisfaction to their employers. Miss Anderson Wins British Title (■Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, June 11. In the final of the British Women’s golf championship at Twinberry (Ayrshire), Miss J. Anderson beat Miss D. Park, 6 and 4. This was the first all-Scotlish final since 1908, when Miss M. Titterton defeated Miss D. Campbell, at the 19th hole, at St. Andrews. Both the 1937 finalists are daughters of professionals. Miss Park is the reigning Scottish champion.
