Tyre Pressures
Equalising Importance Most drivers realise the importance of equalising the air pressure in both front and both rear wheels, but this can usually be achieved only by exercising much patience and care. Garages in . Great Britain, however, are new .employing, a special device which makes * this task ridiculously easy. It consists of special air pump equipment which pumps up the two front or the two back tyres at the 'same time with equal pressure in each tyre- The operator of the pump simply affixes the two air lines to the two tyres being dealt with, and sets the indicator on the dial to the required pressure. The two tyres are •then inflated simultaneously, and as «odn the indicated piressure is ]reachedefhe air flow ’.is*cut. off. Apparently'the tubes running to the two tyres arc interconnects, and the air pressure balances just as does the fluid in the tiibing of a hydraulic braking system. The idea appears to be an . excellent one, and besides accurately balancing tyre pressures, apparently makes the task of inflation considerably more speedy than When each tyre is inflated separately.
