Late Rates Maintained At Kamo
Competition was good and late rates were fully maintained at the Kamo stock sale held by Dalgety and Co., Ltd. The supply of cattle was smaller than usual. Fat Jersey cows brought from £3 10/ to £4; boner cows, £2 7/ to £2 14/; boner bulls, medium, £3 10/ to £4 10/; small Hereford cross-weaner steers, £2 17/6; small Hereford cross weaner heifers, £1 15/; sound springing Jersey cows, £5 to £5 10/; later calvers, £4 5/ to £4 15/; springing Shorthorn heifers, £4 15/; fat ewes, 24/. [Special to “Northern Advocate ” 3 AUCKLAND, This Day. The Auckland Egg Marketing Committee announces that wholesale egg prices have been advanced 2d a dozen for all grades of duck eggs. Hen eggs remain unchanged. Rates are as follows: Hen: First grade, 2/4£ a dozen; B grade, 2/1J; C grade, l/7i. Duck: First grade, 2/2J a dozen; B grade, 2/0J; C grade, l/6§. * Country storekeepers’ minimum buying prices for first-grade eggs are: —Hen, 1/10J .a dozen; duck, 1/BJ.

The general manager of the National Bank of New Zealand, Ltd., announces that the board of directors in London recommends a final dividend at the rate of 4 per cent per annum for the half-year ended March 31, making 4 per cent for the year, free of tax. This is equivalent to £4 18/10 per cent in New Zealand currency.
Gold And Silver Quotations
LONDON, May 29. Fine gold is quoted today at £7 0/?2 an ounce, compared with £7 0/6 and £7 0/7 on Thursday, Silver was quoted yesterday at 3aid an ounce spot, and 20 5-16 d forward, same as on May 26. The quotation for silver at per fine ounce yesterday was 21|d, compared with 21 15-16 d on Thursday.
