Forsgren And Kirilinko Draw

NEW PLYMOUTH, This Day. Jack Forsgren, of Canada, and Matros Kirilinko, of Russia, drew with one fall each in a rough wrestling match on Saturday night. Kirilinko was awarded a penalty fall in the fifth round, when Forsgren kicked him as he lay prostrate afte'ivan elbow jolt. Forsgren equalised in the eighth, falling on his opponent as he overbalanced in attempting a dump.

Spellman Too Good For Blomfield

DUNEDIN, This Day. In one of the best wrestling bouts ever seen here. Jack Spellman, 16.0, defeated Lofty Blomfield 16.6. on Saturday night by two falls to one. Blomfield scored with his octopus clamp in the third round. Spellman equalised in the fifth, with an aeroplane spin, dump and body press. Following three terrific dumps Blomfield was groggy in the sixth round, and the American had no difficulty in securing another fall with an plane spin and body press.* It was a hard, fast contest, devoid of showmanship. Spellman’s display marks him as one of the cleverest wrestlers who have ever appeared in Dunedin.

Rum berg Goes Down To Stein

[Special to “Northern Advocate ” 3 AUCKLAND, This Day. In a bout which was devoid of showmanship, Sammy Stein (15.10)," of America, defeated Hal Rumberg (16.7) in a professional wrestling contest in the Auckland Town Hall on Saturday night. Rumberg took the first fall in the third round, with a flying body scissors. Sein evened in the seven round, pressing Rumberg’s shoulders to the mat after a series of flying tackles. There were no falls in the final lound. and the decision of the referee in favour of Stein was received with disapproval by the crowd.
