AGED MAN INCINERATED IN HUT

NEW PLYMOUTH, This Day,

An aged man, Mr. James Wilson, was burned to death in his hut at Matau, 26 miles from Stratford, yesterday. . A young man saw the hut on fire and sought assistance, but nothing could be done to quell

the outbreak and save Mr. Wilson, as the whole building was a mass of flames. When the fire died n down the would-be helpers saw what they thought to be human remains. The police later searched the debris,. and found Mr. Wilson’s charred body. The cause of the fire is not known. . Mr. Wilson was in a feeble condition, and would have had difficulty in escaping.
