Unregistered Dog. Henry Walter was fined 5/- and costs 12/- at the Whangarei Magistrate’s Court this morning on a charge of being the owner of an unregistered cattle dofe of a'greater age than Mx months. Fall From Bicycle. Falling from a bicycle yesterday afternoon, Owen Nankcvillo, aged 6J, fractured his right arm. He, was admitted to the Whangarei Hospital, where his condition today is stated to be satisfactory. Attacked By Cattle Dog. When he was attacked by a cattle deg yesterday afternoon, William McMillan, aged ' 13, of Meldrum Street, Kamo, received several deep wounds in his right leg. He was taken to the Whangarei District Hospital. The wounds were stitched this morning and Ills condition is satisfactory.

For Winter Show. This evening the Whapgarei A. and P. Society is making application to the Whangarei Borough Council for the closing of Robert Street as from June 19. If the request is acceded to, it is the intention of the society to erect a temporary building across the street, and thus provide additional spcKe for exhibition.

Engineers Meet. At the quarterly meeting d¥ the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Society of Civil Engineers held last week, Mr R. H. Packwood, District Engineer of the Public Works Department at Whangarei, gave an address on his recent travels abroad. Children’s Court. At a sitting of the Whangarei Children’s Court this morning, two boys appeared in connection with some alleged mischief, which was committed on an excursion train returning from Auckland to Whangarei on March 29. One boy was severely admonished, and the other case was adjourned for six months. Both were ordered to make restitution of the damage caused. Short Sitting. The sitting of the Whangarei Police Court this morning did not commence until 11.30 o’clock, instead of the usual hour of 10. A Children’s Court sitting commenced at 9.30, and, owing to a large number of witnesses, could not be completed in time. However, there was only a short list for hearing at the Police Court, and the business was disposed of in a little over half-an-hour. Football Misadventures. Three accidents occurred in Rugby matches under the control qf the Whangarei Union on Saturday. Samuel Brydon, of Whakapara, a member v of the Hikurangi senior team, received a kick on the head and was admitted to the Whangarei District Hospital profoundly unconscious. However, he made a quick recovery and was discharged today. In their match with Kia Toa, City seniors lost fHe services of J, Burch, who broke his left collarbone in a tackle, and K. Williams, who received a painful blow under the right eye.
