BUTTER BOXES WILL BE AVAILABLE
“This has been a rather upsetting year in the butter box industry, said Mr T. C. Brash, secretary of the New Zealand Dairy Control Board, to an “Advocate” representative this morning. “First we had the fire which destroyed King’s mill, at Taumarunui, with its annual output of threequarters of a million. “Now the kdhukohu mill, with a small output, has gone. However, the came difficulty will not be experienced in coping with the needs of the Northern factories, as, with the decline in dairy production, there is a slackening off in the demand for boxes ■just now. It will be,easy to adjust the requirements of' the Northern factories.”'
A local leader in the dairy industry commented that the pooling scheme would work advantageously for the Northern companies who had been in the habit of drawing their supplies from the Kohukohu mill. Under the scheme the cost of boxes would be the same from whichever source the companies turned for their requirements.
