For the concluding day of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club’s Easter meeting the weather was fine and the attendance good. The trade was in fine order. The investments amounted to £38,872, compared with £30,873 for the second day last year. The total for the meeting was £80,507, against £65,754, an increase of £14,753. Results:—
April Handicap, of 300 sovs; two miles. —(5-4) On Parade, 12yds, 1; (1-2) Blair Athol, 24yds, 2; (5-4) Red Flier, 12yds, 3. Twelve started. A length and a half each way. Time—4.26 2-5. Oxford Handicap, of 300 sovs; one and a quarter miles. —(3-3) Village Guy, scr, 1; (9-9) Morello, scr, 2; (10-12) Rocks Ahead, scr, 3. Thirteen started. Half a length; a length. Time —2.42 3-5.
High-Class Handicap, of 350 sovs; trotters; one mile and a half.—(3-4) Norma Bingen, 36yds, 1; (1-2) Airflow, 24yds, 2; (4-3) Wahnooka, 12yds, 3, Eight started. A length; three lengths. Time—3.l7 1-5.
