“SUICIDE CLUB” AT PLAZA.
The film “Suicide Club,” now showing at the Plaza Theatre, resolutely refuses to fall into any generally accepted category, being a romantic period comedy of adventure, based on a fantastic plot by Robert Louis Stevenson. Skilfully and whimsically directed, and leading from one exciting situation to another, it holds the attention despite its bizarre incidents. The dialogue may be a little too high-flown for the masses, and the plot too subtle for juveniles, but discriminating audiences will welcome this successful attempt to put a different kind of entertainment on the screen. Robert Louis Stevenson’s imaginative tale of strange intrigue is made into a fantastic film story that tantalises as uiuch as it mystifies. Good acting and n action help to offset the unreal air of tins bizarre period-piece. chlracter PP ° rtS ™ enterlainin §
