The “young fry” of the Native School are looking forward to their anAual picnic in Mr Nehua’s beautiful grounds on Saturday. Miss Tutu has been appointed assistant teacher at the Native School, in place of Miss Hapeta, who .resigned. Mr Seymour, who has left for England, to revisit the land of his birth, is to see the Coronation, and tour Britain.
I Mr and Mrs Barron, of the school residence, with Mrs Barron’s parents, Mr and Mrs Sinclair, of Kamo, spent the Easter holidays at Whangaroa. Mr Wykes, of the Puhi Puhi School, went to Auckland for the holidays. After a long spell of sickness, Mrs L. Gardiner is convalescing, but a proposed trip to Auckland has had to be postponed. Mr Gardiner was at home for the Easter holidays. Mrs W. A. Porter, who has been on tour as far as Whakatane, has returned to the manse, after seeing all the members of her family. Several changes have taken place in the staff of our local Post Office. Mr Judd has joined the ranks of the Benedicts, and been promoted to the Post Office at Pukekohe, and Messrs. A. R. Frew and W. Graham, of Hikurangi] have joined the staff here.
