Puma Club Opens New Season

The opening of the Purua Golf Club's season was held yesterday afternoon, there being a large attendance of members and visitors from other clubs, including Whangarei and Whau Valley. The first ball was driven by Mrs C. H. Finlayson, wife of the president of the club, her drive being one of 220 yards. During the afternoon, mixed foursomes were played and were won by Mr T. Worsp and Miss Ryder. The membership of the club is in a very strong position, and a successful season is assured. The club is one of the first to get under way in the North and will be followed in quick succession by most of the other clubs.
