BRINSDEN TO MEET COLT IN FINAL

The finalists in the Auckland Provincial golf championships were sorted out by this morning’s play:—H. D. Brinsden (Titirangi), the titleholder, meets this . afternoon the 16-year-oid R. E. Bell, of Otahuhu. The semi-finals were played today and resulted .in Brinsden beating R. JVL George, 2 and 1 in a game in 'Which Brinsden set the pace throughout.

First round.—E. L. Bartleet beat F. W. Lucas, 3 and 2; S- S. Wilson beat W. Macindoe, 2 and 1; J. Earje beat R. B. Carr, 3 and 2; R. D. Wright beat A. K. Hawley, 3 and 2; H. Tidmarsh beat Jacobsen, 1 up; V. W. Wilson beat J. H.‘ Earle, 2 and 1; E. G. Tallis beat L. J. Bryant, 1 up; J. E. Stedman beat B. Salek, 4 and 3. Second round.—E. L. Bartleet begt S. S. Wilson, 2 up; J. Earle beat R. D. Wright, 1 up; E. G. Tallis beat H. Tidmarsh, 2 up; V. W. Wilson beat J. Steadman, at the 19th. The bogey handicap resulted in a win for D. W. S. Williams (10), who was four up. The medal handicap was won by L. J. Clifford, with a card of 78—8—70.
