Miss Kathleen Galpin In China

Her many friends in Whangarei and district will be interested to know that Miss Kathleen Galpin, who left here three and a half years ago to join the China Inland Mission, is doing very well in the Far East. She is stationed at Long-Ling, three days from the Burmese border in the south-west of Yunnan. The country in this area is very mountainous, but, despite the many difficulties, notably rough travelling, Miss Galpin likes her vocation. The seasons in Yunnan provide a distinct contrast to what we are accustomed to in New Zealand. The summers there are wet and the winters dry &nd cold. In her latest letter to her father, Mr. A. N. Galpin, and sister, Miss Agnes Galpin, Kathleen intimated that the wet season was just passing.
