Safety in the Air Campaign Recommended in U.S.

WASHINGTON, March 17

The commerce committee of the Senate after completing a long investigation of fatal aeroplane crashes, recommends the expenditure of 14,545,000 dollars for the promotion of safety in the air. It asks Congress to appropriate 10,000,000, dollars this session to construct and maintain aids to air navigation. Other funds are sought to enable the weather bureau to improve its forecasting,, to study the question of the fatigue of pilots, to develop highpowered motors, and for general research in aeronautics.
