FALSE ALARM.

A persistent rumour circulated this morning to the effect that a child from the Pipiwai district had been admitted to the Kawakawa Hospital with infantile paralysis. In conversation with Dr. A. L. Frengley, the medical superintendent today, the “Advocate” learned that a child from that area had been admitted, but there was no suggestion of infantile paralysis. In fact, no suspected cases of the disease had been reported in the Bay of Islands.
