MUSICIANS THREATEN BOYCOTT

IF IMPORTED BAND FULFILS ITS ENGAGEMENTS

[Per Press Association. —Copyright.]

AUCKLAND, This Day,

Further dievelopments in connection with the stand taken by the Musicians’' Union, who protested against the bringing of a band from Australia to play in a city establishment, occui’red this morning. A deputation of union secretaries, which waited on the management, said that if the dispute was not-satisfactorily settled the union would create a boycott. The Australians were informed that if they appear to fulfill their engagement they will be black-listed and the Australian Union informed. Local musicians have also refused to play with any musicians imported from overseas to join local bands. The cabaret concerned had offered to retain the services of the local players to appear with the performers from Australia.
