AUCKLAND MUSICIANS’ WORRIED

| [Special to “Northern Advocate. 1 | AUCKLAND, This Day. j Members of the Auckland Musijcians’ Union, at the moment, are conicerned at the prospect of New Zealand artists being displaced by dance ibands and .orchestras from overseas. ! The band of a cabaret in Auckland | has been served with notice to terminate work on Thursday, and an Australian dance band is to appear, commencing on Friday. It is pointed out that this is the second occasion in four months on which an Australian band has been engaged in a New Zealand cabaret. The union meets tonight, and has been assured of the support of the Alliance of Labour. The details of the situation have been brought before the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon, M. J. Savage, the Minister of Labour, the Hon. H. T. Armstrong, and the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. • W. E. Parry.
