M.C.C. AGAIN FAIL TO GET RUNS

SMALL TOTAL AGAINST QUEENSLAND

BRISBANE, November 27,
The English cricketers today began a four-days’ match, against Queensland at Brisbane. The teams are as follows: England.—Robins (captain). Hammohd, Leyland, Verity. Fishlock, Hardstaff, Fagg, Fames, Barnett, Ames and Voce.
Queensland.— Oxenham (captain), Brown, Rogers, Baker, T. Allen, Andrews, Dixon, Cockburn, Amos, V/yeth, and Tallon, with Hansen as twelfth man.
England opened the batting and was dismissed for 215 runs, after having two wickets for 81 at the luncheon adjournment. , - Leyland The Mainstay.
Fagg was caught off Dixon before he had scored, and Barnett was similarly dismissed when he had made 20. Hammond, who scored 36 in the morning, was caught, also off Dixon, without adding • further to his total. Leyland was the mainstay of the side, being the top scorer with 98 runs to his credit.' < . ,
When stumps were drawn Queensland had scored 71 without losing a wicket. Details of the scores are:— ENGLAND. r First Innings.
