MAUNGAKARAMEA FLOWER SHOW

GUILD’S SUCCESSFUL VENTURE

Maungakaramea had a gala day on November 25, when the Ladies Guild of the Presbyterian Church held a flower show and gift sale. Visitors from Waikiekie, Waiotira, Mangapai, Otaika and Whangarei were present, as well as a very representative gathering of the local people. A splendid concert was held in the evening. The thanks of the committee are due to the large number in Whangarei and elsewhere who so kindly donated' trophies for points prizes. The Mayoress, Mrs W. Jones, opened the show, after which she was presented with a posy by Jill Crawford. The Rev. W. Elliott presided at the concert. , -
