There was a large attendance but conditions were dull for the opening day of the Feilding Racing Club’s spring meeting Waituna Hack Hurdles, of 120 sovs; about one mile and a, half and 130 yards.—(3) Beau Star, 10.6, 1; (2) Limulus, 10.3, 2; (1) Beau Gallant, 10.6, 3. A length and a half; two lengths. Time —2.55 2-5. Aorangi Trial Plate, of 100 sovs; six furlongs.—(l) Great Rope,, 8.8, 1; (2) Mazzini, 8.8, 2; (3) Alloa, 8.8, 3., Oriwai and Party were scratched. Threequarters of a length; a length. Time—--1.15.
Manchester' of 250 soVs; one mile and a.quarter.—(1) Tiger . Gain, 7.12, 1; (2) Spiral, 8.0, 2; (6) , Royal Secret, 7.9, 3. Grateful and Might were scratched. Two lengths; a head. Time—2.l7 2-5. • Flying Handicap, of 15P sovs; six furlongs.—(l) Oratory, 8.13, 1; (7) Mother Superior, 8.3,'2: (4) Bodyline, 7.7, 3. Lone Raider was scratched. A length and a half; a neck.
