TOWAI BRANCH W.D.F.U.

The Towai branch of the Women s Division of the Farmers’ Union held its; monthly meeting .last Thursday. A good muster attended and spent a pleasant afternoon. After luncheon, served by the hostesses, - arrangements were settled for a fancy, dress dance for adults and children, to take the place of- the usual picnic, and Christmas tree. Prizes for best, the most original and the funniest costume, and a Monte Carlo for the' children were allotted.*

A Bring and Buy stall brought in 14/6. A lucky cake competition was won by Mrs H. Pugh and the usual monthly competition was ■ won by Misss Russek, juniors, and Mrs Doyle, seniors. The roll call “An impromptu speech,” caused quite a lot of amusement.
