PARLIAMENT MEETS ON THURSDAY

[British Official Wireless.l (Received 3 p.m.) RUGBY, October 26; Parliament will reassemble on Thursday, when the proceedings will be of exceptional interest. In the House of Lprds, the Air Minister, Viscount Swinton, will make a full statement in reply to Lord Nuffiield’s charges concerning aero engine contracts/ A general debate may follow. In the House of Commons a similar statement will be made by Sir Philip Sassoon, Under-Secretary for Air. It is thought that discussion on this statement will be reserved till the new session. The matter is likely to be raised in the debate on the Address-in-Reply to the Speech from the Throne at the opening. Following Sir Philip’s statement there will be an important debate in the House of Thursday on the Spanish situation. Parliament will be formally prorogued on Friday morning. Mr Stanley Baldwin, Prime Minister, has returned to Downing Street.
