MR PARRY WOULD LIKE “TATIS” IN N.Z.

[Per Press Association. — Copyright.l WELLINGTON, This Day. “I get a lot of criticism from the churches, and a lot of them think I am a very bad man,” said the Hon. W. E. Parry, Minister of Internal Affairs, at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Surf Lifesaving Association on Saturday. “The churches hold that it is immoral to conduct art unions, but we could do a lot worse than taking a ticket in an art union. If I had the right to run Tattersall sweepstakes in New Zealand, I would do it. My aim is to improve the correct sporting activities in New Zealand, and thereby help to build up the people’s health. With the proceeds from sweepstakes I have mentioned, I would be able to get a long way toward that goal.”
