Subscriptions to the Lord Fund for a national memorial to King George have been received at the rate of £2OOO a day during the past few weeks.

The memorial scheme take a twofold form, namely, the erection of a statue on the historic site at the heart of the Empire adjoining Westminster Abbey and opposite the Houses of Parliament; and the acquisition throughout the country of playing fields, which will serve to recall the late King’s deep interest in the welfare of the rising generation. ■
