Homabiook, Manawatu, the present amateur champion, returned the best card with an almost perfect 71. T. S. Galloway, the Maungakiekie professional, again played consistently good golf and returned 72, a similar score to that of his first round. He is now leau .nj the field by three strokes.
Galloway is followed by A. E. Guy, unattached professional, and H. D. Brinsden, Titirangi, with a score of 147 each. A. J. Shaw, who led the field in the first round with 70, was no t nearly so consistent yesterday and returned 78.
