MR CHURCHILL AND GERMANY
(Received 10 a.m.)
LONDON, October 22,
Replying to an attack by the German Foreign Office through its publication “Diplomatic Correspondence,” Mr Winston Churchill denies that he is desirous of the encirclement and suppression of Germany. . Mr Churchill *>says: “Britain and France seek nothing for their own safety which they would not gladly extend to Germany. “The Eastern Pact, two years ago, offered Germany the same protection as Russia. Even now, if Germany desired, I have no doubt that guarantees to assist her if she were the victim of unprovoked aggression would be readily forthcoming.”
