MISS BATTEN VISITS WELLINGTON
[Per Press Association. —CopyrightJ WELLINGTON, This Day.
Miss Jean Batten arrived by motor car yesterday. She has a number of business engagements to attend to before the civic reception today. Miss Batten’s arrival was quiet and unknown to the public, as she left the Limited express at Paekakariki and arrived at Hotel St. George half hidden behind a large hatbox at 9.30. She had a bright smile for a knot of people who recognised her at the door.
