KAIKOHE*KAWAKAWA CIRCUIT
The quarterly meeting of the Kawa-kawa-Kaikohe circuit was held at the residence of Mr and Mrs F. Shepherd, Moerewa, on Tuesday night. There was d good attendance, despite the difficulty in transport. The Rev. Bateup, of Kaeo, presided, and welcomed the following to the meeting: Rev. R. E. Patchett, of Russell; Miss M. A. Downes, of Kaikohe; Miss J. Marshall, of Auckland; and Sister Te Toia.
The suggested alteration of boundaries was discussed. Though great difficulties are felt to be in the way of principles of concentration as affirmed by the representative meeting at Kaeo held recently, it is felt that by increasing staff this will be overcome. Disfavour was expressed in the suggested dropping of smaller preaching places.
Miss R. Hilder was received as member. A general shrinkage in the returns was noted in the balance, sheet. A committee was set up to investigate and set in operation an envelope system. They araj Kaikohe, Mr T. Moor; Ohaeawai, R. Gibbons; Moerewa, F. Shepherd; Kawakawa, C. Wyatt. Mrs J. Hilder, Mr T. Moor and Rev. C. L. Duder are to investigate mem-, bers’ roll and report at next meeting. At present the membership stands at: Junior 31, senior 51.
A unanimous invitation was extended to the Rev. C. L. Duder to labour in the North for another year from April, 1937. Mr T, Moor was appointed the representative to Synod, to be held at Auckland in November.
