BEQUEST FOR WELFARE OF AUCKLAND CHILDREN

The fulfilment of a lifelong ambition was given effect to in the will of the late John Henry Hannan, a wellknown business man, who died on August 9, leaving over 60 house properties in the city.
It was the mutual desire of his wife and himself that part of the fortune should be bequeathed to the welfare of the children of Auckland. Mrs Hannan died two years ago. Mr Hannan’s will is to be sworn for probate at £60.000.
Specific bequests, totalling £1,900. were made to charitable institutions and residuary estimated to produce £30,000, is to be equally divided among the following;—Leslie Presbyterian Orphanage, Meadowbank; Methodist Trust Board, Auckland, for the children’s home; Manurewa Children’s Home; Anglican Orphans’ Home, Papatoetoe; and Community Sunshine Association.
