JN reply to a question as to how the introduction of the 40-hour week was likely to affect the clerical side of the Railway Department staff, Mr G. H. Mackley, the general manager, said yesterday that at all of the main stations and offices throughous the Dominion a 40-hour week was already being worked, and that its introduction in a general way would be brought about with as much expedition as circumstances would permit. —Press Assn.
