MAORI WOMEN’S FIGHT

[Special to “Northern, Advocate/’] KAIKOHE, This Day.

The sequel to a hat-pin and scissors fight between two Maori women in Kaikohe, was heard before Mr Gi N. Morris, S.M., yesterday. The two women charged were Maria Joyce and Pera Wihongi. Evidence was given by Constable D. Robertson that when he found them fighting, Joyce was bleeding from the result of a hat-pin used by Wihorigi. Wihongi was bleeding from the arm, the wound being inflicted by a pair of scissors used by Joyce, who had them -in her pocket.

In a statement,. Wihongi admitted striking Joyce. Wihongi was lined £2 and 12/ costs, and Joyce £1 and 12/ costs’.
