DRESSING THE HAIR
Fashion is very kind about hairdressing today, for no hard and fast rules are laid down at all. No woman is forced to arrange her tresses in a way that does not become her, and, so long as her hair is well shampooed and set, she may flatten it sleekly over her ears or pile it in curls above her brow.
Few women asknowledge that their appearance might be considerably improved if they were to alter the line of their hair. Habit holds them strongly in its toils, and they part their hair just here, and fluff it just there, exactly as they did twenty years ago when they came out of the schoolroom. It has never occurred to them to try a change, and, though they frequently announce that they are sick of the sight of themselves, they do not realise how easily they might see a face which would please them considerably looking back from their mirrors.
