NEW BUSINESS ESTABLISHED. The establishment of a new business, and the extending of an existing service, can give only satisfaction to those who have the interests of their district at heart, but when the new venture provides a long-felt need in the community, it is doubly welcome. It is this latter category that embraces the new sphere entered by the long-established concern of Messrs. Sterling, Forster, Ltd., of Matakohe and Paparoa, who, on Monday, will open in their Paparoa branch a comprehensive display of drapery. It is Messrs. Sterling, Forster’s intention to provide a stock of drapery, clothing, and household lines that will cater for every need of the residents of the surrounding districts. Extensive alterations have been carlied. out in the Paparoa branch, and the portion formerly used as a storeroom has been fitted out with counters, fixtures and shelves, while the provision of a showroom will allow a display of frocks to be made to advantage. Ihe prevailing colour used on the woodwork is a delicate shade ot green that harmonises to perfection with the balance of the appointmentsThe assistant in this department of’ Messrs. Sterling, Forster’s activities will be a young lady who has had tr°a n d S c derable experience in the drapery Messrs Sterling, Forster are to be congratulated on their enterprise in thus extending their business, as in these days of cars and good roads the popular tendency is to shop far afield and any encouragement given to people to shop locally is worthy of support
