The attendance was estimated at 16,000 for the concluding day of the Auckland Racing Club’s winter meeting held at Ellerslie on Saturday. The totalisator handled £49,224 for eight races, against £35,362 10/- for seven races on the final day last year, an increase of £ 13;861 ID/-. The investments for the meeting amounted to £134, 512 10/- for twenty-three races, compared with £113,410 10/- for 22 races last year, ah increase of £21,102, Further results: — WINTER STEEPLECHASE, Of 750 sovs. About three miles.
