TENNIS. The members of the Helena Bay Tennis Club visited Kauri on Saturday last to play a challenge match for the Geissler Cup. The games resulted in a draw, the sets being 8 all. The games were as follows, Kauri players mentioned first: —

Men’s Singles.—W. Slaney lost to A. Matheson, 3—6; C. Bell beat H. Matheson, 6 —3; C. Fergusson lost to Lee, 3 —6; Jones lost to Listre, 2—6. Ladies’ Singles.—Miss Simpson beat Mrs Richardson, 6—2; Miss Ayton beat Miss Douglas, 6—4; Mrs Slaney beat Miss Lee, 6 —5; Miss Bell lost to Miss Booth, 5—6.

Men’s Doubles.—Slaney and Bell lost to A. and H. Matheson, 3 —6; Fergusscn and Jones lost to Lister and Lee, I—6.

Ladies’ Doubles, —Misses Simpson and Ayton beat Mrs Richardson and Miss Douglas, 6—5; Mrs Slaney and Miss Bell beat Miss Booth and Mrs Lee, 6 —l.

Combines.—Slaney and Miss Simpson beat A. Matheson and Mrs Richardson, 6—2; Bell and Miss Ayton beat H. Matheson and Miss Douglas, 6—2; Fergusson and Mrs Slaney lost to Lister and Miss Booth, 3—6; Jones and Miss Bell lost to Mr and Mrs Lee, I—6.
