OKAIHAU

GOLF MEETING The annual meeting of the Okaihau Golf Club was held on Thursday, March 5. Owing to rough weather it was not largely attended, -but hopes are entertained of a larger membership for the club this year. The following officers were* elected: Patron, Mr John Mackereth;. president, Mr J. Horne; vice-president, Mr K. Robinson; club captain, Mr T. Malt; secretary, Mr A. Anderson.

When the question of the election of three committeemen arose, it was proposed by Mr Malt and seconded by Mr Ross, that two ladies and one man be selected instead of having i a separate ladies’ committee as formerly.-. This was carried,, and Mrs J. Harrison, Miss D. Robinson and Mr C. Wells were elected. Mrs J, Harrison was elected ladies’ club captain. The election of greens superintendent was left in the hands of the committee: selector, Mr A. Anderson. Mr F. Freeman was elected auditor. Messrs C. Wells and T. Malt were elected delegates to the central committee.

It was decided that subscriptions be the same as last year, but that the building levy'was to be rescinded. Arrangements are to be made for a dance on May sth, and it was decided to hold a working-bee during the week-end to get the course in order for play. ; ■ v
