DARGAVILLE-PAPAROA OIL

t SAMPLES EASY TO GET [Special to " Northern Advocate,”] \ DARGAVILLE, This Day. As requested by the Hon. P.; C. Webb, Minister of Mines, samples of oil and gas from the DargavillePaparoa area are to be obtained as soon *as possible, and sent to the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research for analysis and report. More than 20 bores have, been sunk in the area, and as these have proved positively that oil is present, there will be no difficulty in obtaining samples. When one .bore was being sunk, nearly a gallon of oil was collected, and in another place a strike of gas at 100 feet blew water 30 feet into the air. When the gas was ignited • it burned with a bluish flame, the roar of which could be heard some distance away.
