KAEO

Several members of the Kaeo branch of the W.D.F.U. entertained other members and visitors to an afternoon held in Pye’s Hall on Tuesday.

Items of interest were the songs “Daddy” and “Three Little Bonnets” by Mrs C. Maddox, Scotch songs by Mrs Watkins; humorous recitations by Mrs Millar, and a very amusing oneact play, “The Burglar,” cleverly px-e----sented by Mrs Millar, Misses T. Leslie, R, Brighoftse, Hayes and E. Maddox, each of whom was the recipient of beautiful bouquet. Mrs Millar took the opportunity to acquaint all with a report on the expenditure of the Christmas Tree fund, and Mrs Lane read the plan for the next meeting. Afternoon tea was then served. The hostesses were Miss Leslie, Mrs A. Shepherd and Mrs McEwen. A sum of £3 Os 4d was taken at the door.
