McCARTEN RIDES THREE WINNERS
(Received 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, January 30.
M. McCarten had another, good day at the Victoria Park races today, riding three successive winners and deadheating for first in another. The New Zealand-bred mare, Miss Nottava, was second in the Victoria Park Handicap, in which Cherry King was unplaced. Royal Helena was third, in the second division of the Maiden Nursery. Edible was unplaced in the first division. Money Spi and Red Rosebud were unplaced in the Flying Handicap, Havaspot in the Brush Hurdles and Sir Walter in the second division of the Encourage Handicap. Results:— '
Encourage Handicap: one mile (first division).—Mananui , (N.Z.-bred), 8.2 (M. McCarten), 1; Fair Dianna, 8.2 (Cook), 2; Contrast, 8.4 (D. Munro), 3. Seventeen started. A head each way. Time—l. 3 race record.
