STILL AN ADVOCATE OF SOCIALISM
LABOUR GOVERNMENT’S PRINCIPLES t Per Press Association. — Copyright.'] WELLINGTON, This Day. “The Labour Government stands unchanged in its principles from those it stood for thirty years ago, and it is still the same advocate of Socialism,” said the Minister of Mines, Hon. P. C. Webb, during a reception at Kilbirnie last night to the Minister of Public Works, Hon. R. Semple. “It is the times that have changed, not Labour’s principles,” continued Mr Webb. “The Government represents a new thought in the world today and a new order of society. The public conscience of New Zealand rebelled against the old order of things, and Labour was given a mandate to give expression to the awakening consciousness.” The people had played their part in a determination to give effect to the new order. It now remained for the Government to play its part, Mr Webb said.
