WHANGAREI DOES NOT FINISH
IN CORNWELL CUP [Special to “Northern Advocate”) AUCKLAND, This Day. T[ie third race for the Cornwell Cup was held this morning in a light southerly, over two rounds. Staifting at 11.5, Tauranga was the first away, followed by Christchurch, Kaiapoi, and Wellington, with the others handy. Tauranga maintained a lead throughout, completing the first round at 11.38.10. Wellington at 11.38.45, Auckland at 11.39.55, Christchurch at 11.40.25.
The others were close up, except Lyttelton, Whangarei and Hamilton. Tauranga improved its position in the second round, finishing at 12.10.12; Wellington at 12.11.57, Christchurch at 12.12.33, Auckland at 12.12.56, Manukau at 12.14.49, Kaiapoi at 12.17.27, Paramata at 12.17.29, Plimmerton at 12.17.57, Otago at 12.19.12, Lyttelton at 12.24.45, Whangarei and Hamilton did not finish.
