MADAME STAVISKY ACQUITTED

FRENCH FRAUD TRIAL VERDICTS (Received 11 a.m.) PARIS, January 17. When the jury in. the Stavisky fraud trial retired they were provided with meals and beds. They were also asked to answer 1956 questions submitted to them. Madame Stavisky and nine others accused of complicity in the frauds were acquitted and five were found guilty with extenuating circumstances. Those convicted are: The ex-Mayor Of Bayonne, M. Joseph Garat; Deputy M. Gaston Bonnaure, a member of the Chamber of Deputies; General Bardi de Fourtou, an insurance official; M. Paul Gueoin, controller of the Bayonne municipal pawnshop: M. Gustave Tissier, jewellery appraiser; M. Henri Cohen, theatre director, M. Henri Hayotte, and also Stavisky’s henchmen, M. Raul Desbrosses and M. Georges Hatot
