A party of about 50, on Wednesday night, visited the home of Mr and Mrs Belfield, who were married recently. Many members of the men’s - hockey team, of which Mr Belfield has been a prominent player for some years, were present. An enjoyable time was spent in games and music, culminating with supper,
Mrs W. Belfield and Miss Audrey Belfield left by Friday’s express to take up their residence at Ngarua. Miss Belfield intends to take up nursing as a profession.
Mrs F. O’Shea returned to her homo this week considerably benefited in health after eight months’ treatment in hospital, Mr McKinney, of Bombay, and his son, have been on a short visit to Mr and Mrs G. Allcock. Mrs F. H. Halliday and family are spending a lengthy holiday at Paihia, Bay of Islands. Miss Marjorie Gillingham returned to Auckland on Monday after spending Christmas at her home. Mr and Mrs T. E. Porter are enjoying a holiday at; Parua Bay. Miss Olive Ferguson, of Portland, is staying for a few weeks with her aunt, Mrs G. Winnard. Mrs Thompson 'and Mr Gordon Thompson, of Auckland, have returned home after spending a few days with Mrs Winnard.
