SYDNEY WOOL SALE

(Received 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, January 9. At the Sydney wool sales today 12,000 bales were offered and 11,477 were sold. Also 1697 bales were sold privately. The firmer tendency continues, and the range of prices showed an advance of 5 to 7 2 per cent, on the closing rates before Christmas. Greasy merino sold to 26d. The average price of wool sold in Sydney during the first three days of this week was £l7 17/5 a bale, or 14.8 d a lb.
