CATHOLIC CHURCH IN N.Z.
HIGH PRAISE FOR SISTERS (Received 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, January 9. After assuming office as Nuncio Apostolic to Switzerland, Archbishop Bernadini, formerly Apostolic delegate to Australia and New Zealand, sent a farewell message to his friends. He •expresses the conviction: “To these two noble nations—Australia and New Zealand—will be reserved a future of even greater religious, mpral and material prosperity, so that they may happily accomplish their mission of civilisation.
“Perhaps,” adds the Archbishop, “in no country in the Roman Catholib world is the work of the Sisters so fruitful and efficient as in the territory committed to the delegation of Australia and New Zealand. A great part of the wonderful progress of the Catholic Church in these nations must be attributed to the prayers and work of the Sisters. It is our Sisters and Brothers who render possible that marvellous system of schools, which is a glorious characteristic of the Church in Australia.”
